Tried to fit the grommet I got from Sytner today using the long screw method to negate having to go in through the boot.
Managed to fit the grommet but also snap the top of the aerial base - lovely.
Any ideas regarding next steps would be appreciated.

Don't you just love it? How many times have I been able to achieve a difficult procedure that shortens the time and labor only to succeed with it by causing another problem of equal or greater difficulty? I usually exercise my extensive vocabulary at that time..........Frankie

I had water collecting in that compartment because of a defective grommet, so I replaced it with a new one. What a b..ch of a time I had getting the grommet to seat properly without scratching the paint around the hole. Glad to get it in finally (that doesn't sound proper....). It was the second grommet as the first one I ordered on line which looked EXACTLY like mine was twice the size of mine. It was supposed to be for my car, my old 1.9. It's still sitting here next to my computer after about 5 years............Frankie
