Sad news unfortunately,
My father who posted under Chris Hunter suddenly passed away on the 28th November. To say my world has fallen apart is a understatement. Dad loved his Z3 and Loved reading this forum which gave him so much pleasure.
He had spent many many hours making his Z3 the best it could be with mods like, twin eared diff, butt strutt, gearbox shift pins, plus many other improvements.
Only October he had it professionally detailed and ceramic coated, he drove it home and we parked it in its Carcoon, sadly he never got to see it again and enjoy it.
I am now faced with what to do with his pride and joy, sadly keeping hold of it is not a option unfortunately so it would need to go to a new very special home.
Can anyone advise me on how much it is worth or
If anyone is looking for argubly one of the best 3.0 Z3 with only 38k miles get in touch.
Thank you
Lee

Keep strong Lee. If I had the cash and the space I would buy it without hesitation. I’m sure there are people on here looking for just such a car.

So sorry to hear about the passing of your father and that time brings some healing. I would guess around 6-7k - if someone wants a 3.0 in the condition you summarise - they will pay the price.

Best Wishes.

Sorry to hear that Lee and its a shame you can't hang on to it. If you send me the reg I can get you a full report on the car including a retail and trade price valuation.
All the Z3's have now hit classic status and on that mileage I would imagine there is a really strong possibility that you will find a new owner who will cherish it as much as your dad did - hopefully another forum member so you can follow its progress.

Hi Lee sorry to read this sad news, I remember the twin eared diff mod your father did, nice example of a Zed and shame you can’t keep it. Looking at prices on autotrader prices starting around 6K for high milage upto 12K for one with 60,000 miles. If you can wait untill spring you will have a better chance of selling it quicker. I would offer it on here first to see if there anyone interested if you want a quick sale I’m sure 8.5k would attract some attention but if you can wait I would try at 10-11K and see you can always come down in price if no takers. Hopefully someone on here will offer you a fair price.

I would suggest an auction. It gets a lot of coverage and interest and it will achieve its true value as opposed to many pie in the sky estimates.

£7/8000 is about right but you may be lucky.

Mathewsons, Silverstone Auctions, WB & Sons etc.

Best of luck with it.

Hi..I recently purchased a Z3 3.0 litre after looking for one for over a year. I'm pretty aquainted with what has sold and hasn't over this period and what they have sold for...Drop me a PM if you would like me to share my experiences if it would be of help

Z3 2.8 facelift. Z3 3.0i
Hi Lee
Sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad.
I spent a quite some time looking for a 3.0i, couldn't find one I wanted so bought a 2.8 facelift.
However that's not to say I wouldn't want a 3.0i instead.
Where are you based, I can come have a look at the car, see if I want to go back to my original plan.
Regards

Gordon

Hello all and thanks for the messages, and support it means a lot. 👍👍
On reflection I will keep it wrapped up in its carcoon until the spring, its not taking any hurt warm and dry especially with this cold we horrible January weather. also give me a little bit more time to come to terms with it all.
Before I advertise it I promise I will offer it on here first.
Thanks
Lee

Sorry for your loss, Lee. Keeping the car for a while will give you time to check the best way to sell it

So sorry to hear this sad news. I think storing it for a while is the best option to help you get the best price. Good luck

So sorry to hear the sad news about your Dad Lee. Doesn't seem like 5 mins since I was reading his post about having his Z professionally polished. I'm sure your making the right decision about keeping the car for now. If possible its best not to rush into things while your grief is still raw. Prayerful best wishes to you & your family.

Ian & Sue.
