I have what i thought was a wheel bearing noise on the Z4? Definite rumble from what sounds like the O/S/F wheel but on jacking the car up and spinning both wheels the only slight noise is from the discs / pads catching.
Could it be it only happens at road speeds or when the bearing is warm? or am i looking in the wrong place?
Not expensive to buy wheel bearings, and doesn't look to much of a pain to fit but wondered if it could be something else???

The problem with jacking up the wheel Paul is you remove the load from the bearing. We had the same issue with Dawn's car on Saturday. Rumbling when driving but no noise when jacked up.

Take notice if it's more apparent when taking right or left curves Paul. Also if you hear it more say on a LH curve see if it fades as you steer to the right or vice versa.

No noticeable difference left or right or drive or free wheeling

Sounds like it Dave. Easy to do if it's a complete bolt on hub unit mate.

Tony.

ps. Which they are, just looked on eBay. Circa £50.

I have no idea mate but it's going to needing addressing soon. One it's annoying but more so the mot is due in June and i'd rather have it sorted before then so it doesn't fail or show as an advisory.

Jack it up and feel for any play (side to side and top to bottom), then spin it by hand as listed for any noise.
