I can't believe it has taken this long, but finally someone has seen sense.

No s*** Sherlock, well not before time.

Tony.

I thought Tony had a vid of Shirl going through, when I saw the thread title.

Not surprised really, but its only because its become such an attraction - fords have been around for many years without problem.
I think their reasoning of putting pedestrians who watch in significant danger not right - they are feet above the water and seperated by a barrier

Rufford ford used to be less than a foot deep, I went through it in a Mini (a proper Mini) years ago. It is much deeper these days and a danger to vehicles more than anything.

Tony.

It's less than a foot deep most of the year, however it's rise to fame on YouTube and Facebook has just increased the amount of idiots that turn up to both watch and try and get through it as fast as they can.

I'm sure we've all seen those stood at the exits at car shows who try and goad leaving cars to spin up or do something stupid. Same has happened at Rufford and there's never a shortage of people willing to play up for the camera.

I might be odd, but can see the fun in that. Those pedestrians seemed to be enjoying it also. :)

AFAIK, nobody has every been kileed or injured at the ford, but there have been mamny, many hours of entertainment provided by idiots who have tried to drive through it.

I cannot think of a more perfect example of the nanny state.
