Hey everyone, I have a question about the thin rubber side part that meets the frame of the door and convertible top are these rubber squares and just the tops them a little shred, very little..is this okay or do I have to get this all replaced? It's the rubber parts that meets the convertible top so I pulled off the parts that were shredded a little bit I will post a photo

Would've been better to glue the torn pieces back to the main part really but a little too late now. These rubbers tear due to being allowed to dry out and lose their flexibility. They need to be treated with Gummi Pflege or similar products. Clear silicone grease works just as well.

Tony.

ps. Going on your pictures I'm guessing you are in the USA?

Yes sir I'm from USA, but because the little part was hanging well this caused a serious problem like leaking or anything??

It could cause water ingress, something to keep an eye on.

Mainly picture 4, it's fairly typical of storefront parking over there in the US, plus the vehicle in the pictures. Add to that the one shown is mostly in his view, apart from picture 4, so I guessed that was the driver's door.

Yes, I realised that the first 3 and the last picture were from the lefthand side.

It's very hard to explain what these are called but when I bought the car like I said there was a little tear and they were sort of just hanging and there really was no way to glue them back on but I thank you for your help..

If you can find someone breaking Z3s you might be able to buy some used door seals.

This is what I'm talking about.. I just want to know if this is a serious problem but I'm going to have to fix because it's been raining and there's no leaking or anything..

If there is no water leaking into the car then you don’t have much to worry about. Just keep watching out for water getting in.
