Anyone had this ?

When driving enthusiastically :) I am getting a high pitched whistling from the roof. Sounds like it's coming from directly above the rear view mirror.
Starts at about 120km/h and higher speeds. Worse with a headwind.

The roof seems to fit perfectly and there are no leaks. I have also done the Gummi Phlege on all the seals.
The fabric also seems to be fitting the frame well.

I know...drive with the roof off... :)
Any ideas.
Thanks

Is the problem with the hard top or soft top!

PS - just realised you mentioned fabric - soft top? Is the tension on the levers pretty firm to open - close?

Hi

Sorry - should have been clear - yes - a soft top. I don't have a hard top.
Levers are quite firm and connect well - no experience with other cars, but seems as they should be?
Can't find anything unusual about it - all looks as it should. There are no gaps between roof and frame or anything other that looks out of place.
Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.

When I’ve had this issue it was a tiny gap between the top of the frame and hood, also around the rear view mirror area.
My adjustable hooks were already as tight as I’d like them so I closed the gap using a strip of thin single sided black foam. Did this about 6yes ago now..

This may sound daft but try slackening the roof hooks one turn and then try it. If the hooks are a bit too tight it can pull the roof edges down a bit too tight and deform the center of the roof just a little enough to slacken it off the rubber.

Also give the rubbers a liberal spraying of silicone spray which allows them to slip into position better as the roof closes.

Tony.
