Does anyone know of a simple way to delete the roof brake safety switch?
I need to be able to lower the roof from the roof switch on its own, without having to press the brake pedal.

Doesn't look simple as the supply for the roof enable is the same as the brake light suppy. You will have to do some cut/paste work.

Don't forget the system is there to ensure you don't operate the roof when driving (too fast) and bending the roof frame, it will act like a wind brake and its not designed to tolerate high wind pressure

I am frightened of my car deadlocking, if it does I need to open the window to lower the roof to get in.
There is no way my "Snake hips" will allow me to crawl in and reach the brake pedal and roof switch at the
same time.

It will be moved to the new dashboard but it still won't help me reach the brake pedal from the window.

So, you are afraid that you won't be able to unlock your car?
You know the car can be opened with the key, both doors are independent mechanialy.
The roof can be lowered manually by relieving the pressure at the roof motor in the trunk.
Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying?
I have not ever heard of a Z3's door locks or door latch release failing simultaneously.
Again, sorry if I misunderstand your fear.

Look at my avatar, my car has a full body kit including door skins that cover the door lock.
They are known to deadlock on their own, it has happened 3 times to me so far.

So I assume you have added a locking mech addition for the car to self lock then ? As you have taken the key lock away from the door, what happens with a flat battery ? Still puzzled as to how you would get the roof down without being able to open the car door itself. You need to unhook the two catches for a start.

Hidden window switch in the boot to lower drivers window, the boot is old fashioned key and handle.
BMW e36 has a known problem of deadlocking.

Wooahh steady on,
no need for any of that..

On the ZKE A104 module behind the glovebox you will see 3 plugs, black, purple and green

The middle purple one (X13253) is where the magic happens

Applying +12v to the Blue/Red/Yellow wire on that plug (terminal 4) will unlock all the doors.

run 12v from a switch in the boot to that wire and when you press it you will unlock everything..

You can also lock the doors and roll up the windows on other inputs on that plug.

WOW, that could be the answer I have been looking for, thanks very much.
I will give it a try during the week and report back.

I like Pete‘s suggestion, my idea would be rather than delete the brake switch system I would move the option to maybe a switch on the dash?

Switch on the dash would be an option but I would rather do away with it. I have an SL Merc that has a similar brake switch that won't allow you to move out of park unless your foot is on the brake, The switch fails (twice on mine) and locks the gearbox in park, but the brake lights still work.
A wire to the module would solve all my problems. It is one of the problems that all Z3 kits with door skins suffer and nobody yet has come up with a solution. If it works the could be a half-pint in it for gookah!

well why didn't they just ask me.....? ;)

I know it works, I have a centre console switch that does exactly that.

The reason I have it is that my Carvox alarm deadlocks the doors on driving off.
I can only unlock them if I switch off the ignition (or the airbag crash circuit triggers the unlock),
if I want to let the passenger out without switching off the ignition (or crashing  ) I can do that by operating my switch.

If you notice my console has an ASC switch and a DSC switch
The DSC is the door unlock, wired with an ignition live to the switch, with the switched output to that blue/red/yellow wire as described before

DSC = Door Security Cancelled... :thankyou:
