I've ordered a set of top mounts from CA International at a reasonable price. I've read here http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14703 that the fitting of these can be done in 3 ways. However, I don't have access to a vice, and even if I did, my physio has told me not to go crawling under the car for a few weeks while my shoulder recovers!!
Does anyone have a picture of how the fitting can be done with the shocks and wheels in situ. I have a pair of car ramps that I can reverse up, but how would I ensure that the shock absorber moves up and down in the space left by removing the top mounts?
Hope this makes sense.

It can be done, just going to be awkward getting to the fixings at the top of the dampers. Has to be done with the roof up, and not a lot of room to work in to get the carpet stuff up and out of the way, especially if you've got a bit of a mobility problem. No pictures of it, just going on my own experience.

you don't need a vice

the hardest part by far is getting to the top mounts in the car, even worse if you have roll hoops

remove carpet from parcel shelf
remove rubber cap
undo nut x 4

got under the car

remove bolt holding shock

then instead of a vice!!!! use a pari of molegrips

This may sound daft but give yourself some space in the car to get at the top mount nuts, remove the passenger seat, 2 bolts, 2 nuts and a wiring loom (or drivers seat if you prefer), Please don't switch on the ignition with the seat removed as an airbag fault will appear.
With the seat removed you can work comfortably in the car and get to the top mount nuts without fighting the top part of the seats.

Wish I'd thought of that when I did mine.
