Just came across this article. An interesting read, but it took them 10 years to complete the conversion :eek:. Guessing it wasn't much of a high priority to get it built, but they got there in the end I guess.

Short story version. Big engine, complete respray, other tweaks and it's a fast Zed :)

That'll give Deano's a run for it's money I guess! Looks the nuts too, very nice but I can't have it as Tony has already put his name to it! :D

My kid brother has already been measuring up my engine compartment to see which v8 will fit the best. If only this motor, the magnificent M44, didn't run so well I'd consider a transplant as I have several different sized v8's collecting cobwebs out back. He ran a 58 Mercedes 180 with a 350 chev engine for about 11-12 years which I think is the longest he's ever owned a vehicle. It was a little screamer that shocked a lot of people at red lights. I also have a 462BBC sitting in storage but it might just twist the z3 in half with over 500hp. JIM
