Rio, Montreal Blue Z3 2.8 Widebody

Recently purchased as a project, is a 1997 R on 164k miles. The 2.8 is still strong but by no means perfect, with (at a minimum) thermostat and O2 sensor issues. Along with a leaky roof and past-its-best paint, the car will keep me busy but the plan is to keep it mostly OEM and get it handling, looking and going like it originally did...

So after a crazy month I’ve finally had a little time to spend on the Z, so decided to start with restoring the headlights. Before and aftershock attached, waiting on the clear coat to dry to give a final polish up and even out both sides.

Does anyone have a solution to the steering wheel issue, namely the wheel being more at home at the helm of a ship than in a sports car. That combined with being perched on rather than in the seat is making driving less than confidence inspiring.

I was thinking about buying a second hand E36 wheel, stripping the covering off and welding a new outer ring on then recovering. Every time I get in my diesel V40 I’m taken aback by how much sportier and supportive it feels than the Z.
