Just replaced the drivers side central locking actuator. I bought two from AUTODOC AG in Berlin. Brand is RIDEX. There's a few different ones but, for whatever reason I chose RIDEX.

Anyway. Parts arrived but didn't fit. Not straight away anyway.

See these little oblong holes in the picture? Pointing with by grubby fingers.

Well. The holes aren't deep enough. Slotting the actuator onto the lock mechanism and it wouldn't go together all the way.

This picture shows the pins that slot into those holes. Pointing at one of them with screwdriver.

This picture is after I'd ground off around 2mm with my angle grinder.

Pins 2mm shorter and it all fits together nicely.

And my central locking works - Yay! Well, drivers side at least. Now to debug the passenger side.

Just done the passenger side. And now, for the first time in maybe 8 years, I've got central locking all round. I think I'll go back out and lock the doors. And maybe even unlock again just coz I can. :D
