Restoring headlights

I saw a similar programme showing how these guys kept the old classic cars on the road. The main thing that has stuck in my mind was the way they took panels from one car and just "panel beat" it into a different shape to fit another car. They showed 2 guys cutting the roof and boot lit off an old huge cruiser and because the "doner" steel sheet was relatively flat they said they could make anything for anything from it.

All they had to work with were leather pads, wooden mallets and only their own hand made panel beating tools.

It was amazing to see. I'm sure it must be somewhere on Youtube now
I think it was either Jeremy Clarkson's "Motorworld" or Robbie Coltrane's " Trains, Planes and Automobiles"

Tony.

Used the Meguiars kit on both e39's and e61's with good results, but for it to be long lasting you have to put a good layer of protective coat on at the end. I seem to recall the first time I used this it was marketed by 3m

Another thing to put on to protect those lights after cleaning is the stick on plastic protection. When it gets grungy rip it off clean the old adhesive off the lens and apply a new one. The toothpaste also works well on jewellery. Cleans all the grit and grime from my wedding ring everytime. JIM

Iv'e just done mine with some old "rubbing Compound", you know the stuff they used back when they put real paint on cars instead of emulsion and nail varnish !!!!!.
