Hi there

Since being 9 years old seeing Bond in Golden eye I’ve wanted the car he drove. 23 years years later and I’ve got my self a project, picked up a P Reg Z3 Roadster in the same ice blue. It’s got 78000 miles on the clock and runs well. However she needs a bit of attention. I would like to keep the exterior as original as possible, whilst inside making room for a few modern day perks (Sat nav etc).

Not sure where to start, I’m thinking interior needs some love and attention so would like to begin with door panels and seating as the cream leather is looking well worn.

Any help and advice along the way would be great

Phill

Welcome to the forum. The Z3 is fairly easy to work on and there is plenty of information on the forum to guide you on most common projects. Apart from the cosmetic refurbishment you mention, replacing tired suspension; shock absorbers and bushes would be worthwhile if they haven't been done. Check rubber hoses under the bonnet and rubber drive belts for alternator and aircon. Replace any that are showing signs of cracking. Changing engine, gearbos and diff oils, along with brake fluid and coolant could also be on your list as these are often foegoten about.
Most importantly, get out and enjoy driving you car.

Don't forget that the Z3 in GoldenEye featured stinger missiles hidden behind the headlights, an emergency parachute braking system and a radar scanner in the form of a LCD screen in the dashboard. It is also noted during the briefing scene, that the car contains a passenger ejector seat and a self-destruct system. Would be good "modern day perks";)

Its quite remarkable what can be done with the interior using the correct products, for me Furniture clinic are brilliant but others have had good results using other products, if you have a bit of time take a look through my thread
