Hi, I would really appreciate if someone can assist with this parts interpretation as there seem to be so many options in the parts catalogue.

I need to replace the panel housing/surrounding the instrument panel. A previous owner pulled the top off my cluster area and broke all the clips that hold it down. There is no extended leather option either so it would be good to get a replacement piece with the leather. The panel is black.

Good news. A forum member has one for sale and I am hoping to get it - provided it is suitable. I just can't determine if it will fit!

My car is a 2.2i 06/2001 M54 VIN LL73078 and the donor is a 1999 2.0 the picture of the part is in this thread http://zroadster.org/threads/breaki...3-many-parts-available.3897/page-2#post-56801

Thanks to anyone that can assist.

Cooper

Hi Cooper, as long as the part numbers match up don't see a problem. I think you're getting confused with the different German colour combos. I'm sure someone better versed in Zeds will be able to confirm what you need shortly. Other than this problem how's the car? Everything you imagined? JIM

Hi @oldcarman ,

I got the numbers matched up side by side like the photo I accidentally posted above [now removed] but got a bit nervous [I am a newby] and really don't want to mess this up as the part has to be sent to Australia - there is no room for error.

When in first got Brandy [her name] I was really anxious and wondered if I had made a mistake. She sounded nice but I had no service history and because the tires were so flat she drove like a wild horse. Thankfully I have a lot of time with her and have put about 2000k on the clock and I am much more happy. She handles quite well and I really like driving with the top down. I have done a bit of work on her and there is still plenty to do but most of it is not expensive. I get quite few street challenges and looks from others so she must look ok!;) I really enjoy spending time on the forum it is awesome. I jhope to be able to meet a few of you in person some day and take your Zeds for a test drive so I have something to compare the experience to. If anyone comes to Tasmania they have a place to stay. Cooper:cool:

I can understand your apprehension but just remember that there is a wealth of knowledge about these cars within this forum. If a problem shows up I'd be gob smacked (there I go using my new second language) if there was not one person who could come up with a solution. As a newbie myself and never having driven a Zed, and may not for a while yet, I will rely upon the greater wisdom of the members and their willingness to share to make Trinity, named after my granddaughter who's idea it was to buy the car, a pleasure trip like no other. I too would like to meet with other members and extend the same welcome to one and all to visit me and my family in Canada. JIM

Hi Cooper,

I can't really see any reason why the part would be different between the two models.

In both cases PN 51458399948 shows up against Black (Schwarz), showing that it must be a common part between the two cars.

That's my interpretation, also backed up with a personal guess that I don't think they changed the dashboard at all across the entire Z3 range.
