Hey folks. Got great deal on my Z, so of course there are a few small issues. The driver window won't go down, nephew that sold to me swears its switch, not motor (which I've read go out a lot). Very little info about replacing. He said it just pops up and out, but only video I could find showed guy popping of manual shift boot. Mines auto, and looks like I would have to remove whole console. Does anyone know if I can just pop up and out or do I need to disassemble the whole console? I have the set of plastic tools needed, just don't want to mess it up.
I bought a new switch, just hope its the right one, seems that there are many different parts for same model and year, depending on where it was made.
Thanks in advance!

I've not been in to an auto console, but you can get to the switches without dismantling the whole console. They should push through from underneath if you compress the metal tangs on either side of the switch (which you can just make out in this picture).

You can remove some of the screws holding the centre console in to allow better access if you have small arms!

just lift up the gear shift leather and wiggle a finger in a give it a prod from inside, they are never very tight. Switches do fails, as do fuses and the motor itself

The shifter surround on an auto will just pop out if you use your plastic tool kit. You can then access the window switches from underneath and ease them out.
