Replacement engine

Looking for some advice. I’ve found a replace engine for my z3 2.8 single vanos. What I’m wondering is am I going to problems with my ecu and or immobiliser? I’ve bought a bear engine and intend to swap all parts over from my existing.

I assume this will give me the little clock warning light on the dash, will I have trouble with the ecu - what will need doing? Or will it just be plug and play?

Hi Tom,

Long as your only swapping the mechanical part you wont get any issues. You also wont get any tamper dots. All plug n play.

Also it’s a bear unit, can you get a full gasket set? might as well do them whilst accessible.
