Hi All,
As a non smoker the centre console ashtray seemed a bit of a waste of space.
Looking through eBay I came across this coin tray being offered for the Z3M at £13.90 posted.

I cross referenced the part number 8119624 which was quoted for all Z3 versions.
It's on item no. 253664857696 from Lithuania. I ordered it on 02/07, received it on 17/07.
Remove the 2 piece existing ash tray (2 screws) and the coin tray is a snap fit in it's place. It's higher capacity than the ash tray with it being only 1 piece.

Thanks Shelley, as a newbie, I always think things have been posted a thousand times before! Chris

Yeah, the cup holder is tempting but the paintwork and an auto box service will have to come first!

Would the BMW cupholder be a straight swap for the coin tray in a facelift Y-reg? Got the coin tray currently but really want somewhere to put my beverage:(.

Just unsure if it's an easy job though, as some comments online seemed to suggest a bit of hacking at the centre console was required. TIA:thumbsup:

Yes I've got one of those fitted, I think mine came with the car as original equipment. Mine's not a coin holder though, but my peppermint holder, can't hit the road without peppermints! I've also got the lidded one in the driver's door.

Hi - which one? Is this a snap-in cup holder that just replaces the ash tray? Very interested if so.

Edit: is it this one? I've previously only seen this one, which looks a bit bulky for my liking. Didn't realise there would be a drop-in replacement for the ash tray.

The second one was my choice.
I understand BMW have produced more so you might be able to purchase one from a dealer

Quick question about what it would hold - I read online a lot of people saying they're quite small. I'd just be wanting standard cans, ~500ml bottled water/coke and maybe the odd large Starbucks thingy (16oz, grande though it pains me to descend into coffee jargon...) as there's a drive through on one of my regular routes.

Would those fit fine do you think?
