I have trouble with the drivers seat, it has gone flat on the right hand side due to access, I can feel the frame when getting out.

I am getting a new foam for it [from BMW dealer] and ideas on fitting it will be appreciated.

Seat is sport , electric and electric heated.

The last time I used a local upholster [highly recommended by dealer the car came from] was on an e61 , The job on the seat was OK , but he made a complete mess of the seat re- installation , and made it difficult for the dealer to sort out the coding that was then required.
In fairness the dealer sorted out the code issue FoC ,as he had recommended the upholsterer.
I did get a couple of prices and they were talking over £200 including the VAT , the seat foam is costing £126 [inc VAT and delivery ] from Cotswold BMW s, but I feel happier going this way.

I would be interested to hear your solution to this as mine is the same, it's rubbing the leather on the frame from inside

Intending to replace with a new piece from BMW. I intend keeping this car,(my son originally bought it 6 years ago next month.)
Passengers side is still perfect.

That cheaper than I imagined and worth bearing in mind. I just wished the leather covers for the ///M were more reasonably priced.

You don't really need a new seat pad. The hard work is taking the cover off and putting it back on again - the hog rings are difficult to manipulate.

It's pretty simple to get some upholstery grade foam, spray glue, cut the split area out and replace it with a piece of the repair foam. And for good measure you can top it with some 3mm scrim foam.

The leather is usually affected enough it needs to be properly restored with colour and sealant.

I'm doing a heavy duty repair on a Sport seat currently. Surprisingly the bolsters are very good. But the leather had a nasty tear and it will be getting a full colour and sealant treatment. I'm taking photos to do a How To although it's aimed more at the tear repair than the colouring.

The leather on the seat base is OK at present , but the back will be getting a bit of tlc when [should say if] the weather ever improves.

When I replaced the heating pad in my sport seat base the other week, I discarded the hog rings and replaced them with cable ties. Much easier to work with and...touches wood...are holding fine.;)

I stripped my seats and initially I was worried about the hog rings and struggled with the first one or two. however once you get the knack they are a piece of cake with long nose pliers.
