This is not a new concept as there has been a few that have started up and then packed up. Just not enough customers to warrant staying open.
What is now the F1 Auto Centre on Ashbourne Road Derby used to be a self service garage years ago. But ended up stopping it as there was just not enough interest in using it. I think it was back in the early 90s when it used to do this as i used it to do a clutch on my XR3.
Also there used to be one around junction 29 of the M1 in 2010 and also one in Coventry around the same time.
So i do not expect these new ones that have popped up to stay around for too long.

I feel sorry for the Folk who have taken on a Franchise on the grounds that IF you get 8 hours a day rent this is what you will earn. But not the IF you dont then your rent will be X and your Franchise loan will be X and you will need to declare yourself bankrupt.
I can not see these being used on a regular enough basis to make any money out of them

My boss at the time bought one of these for in our workshop, as he liked to muck about with his car.
I would not even stand under a car on it and my Z could not even get on it anyway.

This looks dangerous indeed! If lift is not attached firmly to concrete floor i won't go under it!

I think most of the problem comes down to liability and the costs involved with insurance costs to cover the owners backside. Just how high did that lift go @HT that you could have stood under it? From the pic it appears that it is only for partial lifts not full height lifts or is it just the angle of the camera as I've never seen that type of lift before? JIM

Never sure about these kind of ramps but handy this one works with low clearance.

Just be very careful when lifting a car to work under it.
Ask @Faheem, he has had one land on his nut.......

I agree with @ppavuk it would have to be very firmly attatched. Thanks @HT it was hard to tell from just the pic. I'd like to see a car on it! JIM
