Ok guys, I have been secretly patting myself on the back with how well I have done with removing the control arm - but have come stuck on the last bolt - the one that connects to the hub. I have loosened the nut, although there isn't enough clearance to remove it yet, however I cannot separate the hub from the ball joint. I have been t**tting it from every angle imaginable and I have even tried getting in there with a crowbar - but nothing will break them free.

Any tips or suggestions?

If I remember correctly, there is a tool that can be used to separate that joint, also there are tools known as pickle forks that can be tried but they generally ruin the rubber. Sorry to be vague but I did that a long time ago.
There are also various other methods like penetrating oil and using hammers to loosen the joint, perhaps another member will pipe in and add to this.

You need to help it along by using a pickle fork or ball joint splitter tool to split the joint. Halfords sell both.

It may be too late now, but, it is best to separate that joint before the inner ball joint, then the rear mount last.

Tony.

Brill, thanks both!! I figured it might need some sort of spreader! I just hoped I might be able to brute-force it! 🤣

damaging the rubber is fine btw, I have complete the complete arm assembly to replace it with 👍

Bugger haha, too late it was, although I did consider the same so ended up using a spare axle stand as a pivot point while I was going at it with the hammer 😂.
