I got my Z3 back today with the DSC warning light issue fixed. However, I now have to sort out the swimming pool that is the floor, 'cos if I don't the acceleration sensors are going to be submarining again. All the thick foam under the carpet is absolutely soaked and I need to remove it for drying. With the flooring out I have a fighting chance of finding where the water gets in.
This afternoon I decided to remove both seats - straightforward job, but by gum aren't they heavy! Then the centre console has to come out. radio out, heater controls unlatched and pushed back, switches disconnected and/or removed, gear knob off and unplugged, gaiter removed, handbrake gaiter unseated.
I have removed two screws from each side cheek in the footwells, two screws from the very rear of the console behind the seats, one screw under the ashtray, and two screws under the top edge of the radio aperture.
The rear of the console can now be lifted but it is still stuck fast at the top of the radio aperture. What have I missed?
