Hi all,

After many pleasant miles in the Z it’s suddenly decided to stop lock/unlocking from the remote key. It will lock and unlock with key no problem just not remote.

I have swapped out the battery but to no avail, any ideas please.

Ok will have a look. So even though locks centrally from key in door this would still be an issue. ?

I take it you've reprogrammed the key to the car if you have changed battery in key fob if you don't know how to do it it's very simple look on YouTube

Ok so what am I looking for
Broken wires in the boot loom where it passes through the plastic loop. Repairing my loom sorted my central locking. The central locking fuse kept blowing, presumably due to wires shorting in the boot loom. Have you checked the relevant fuse isn't blown?

But try what others have suggested with the switch/striker plate first, before cutting into the loom to check.

Boot loom will be prime suspect for this problem, broken corroded wires in it where it folds between lid and body isthe cause of many central locking issues. Strip the outer covering back in that area and check condition of all the wires, repair with solder joints and heatshrink.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me whether the boot lock is designed to unlock all doors when turned?
The boot locks & opens when using the master key in passenger door. But as my drivers door lock is b******* and I only have passenger side lock working-I was wondering if using the key in the boot should unlock all doors..?
Thanks in advance
