Hello all - I am seeking some advice please.

I have a 1.9 2001 wide body to which I am going to fit some 18 inch alloy wheels. The wheels are genuine BMW MV1. They are staggered at 8.5J and 8J with an ETS of 50 and 47.

Recommended sizes are 235 for the rear and 225 for the front. What is the recommended height from your experience. I've been told 35, 40 or a mix?

Secondly having had 225s on the front before the tires caught the inner wing on full lock, so can anyone recommend a suitable size spacer please, ditto for the rear.

I am not after looking like Carlos Fandango (for those that remember the advert) but rather negate the tires catching and will get through an MOT.

Many thanks indeed

Try this https://www.tyremen.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator or one of the others around. You need to keep the overall diameter/circumference of the tyres the same (as close as possible) between the fronts and rears, the Z3 is quite sensitive to differences and will start applying the DSC for no good reason. Did it on mine with staggered tyres, just because I'd had new tyres at one end and had to wait a few days to get the others done.
