Over the years I've used the BMW kit for hood cleaning & proofing

Last time round, I used the AutoGlym kit and I'm not convinced by it

Car sits outside all year, in all weathers, so hood is green - can you recommend what products and pocedures to use to remove the green and re-proof the hood?

The reveno stuff is great, you can get a kit with cleaner and proofed in it.

Yes as Badman suggested Renovo products are very good.

I'd go with a stiff brush & G101 to clean followed by 303 fabric guard to protect once completely dry but that's only because I have the products already.

The 303 range is great, I've got a similar product for the engine bay after using a degreaser!

Yep it's awesome, I also use 3m marine wax on my wheels, excellent stuff.

And on leather dove liquid soap to clean and liquid e45 cream to protect.

A guy who's worked on leather for a number of years recommended it!

I use it on all my leather chairs and sofas too!

I Renovo'd my hood a couple of weeks ago and I'm very pleased with the results, use the cleaner first then colour then the re-proofer, you'll be surprised how much grime the cleaner will lift off...

I always used the BMW cabriopflege kit.
The orange cleaner in the trigger bottle was really good at removing the green lurgy which grows when the car stands outside in winter. An old toothbrush helped to work it in the harder to reach places.
I wasn't terribly convinced with the BMW proofer but as that ran out first I used Fabsil ( tent proofer) instead. The only time the hood let water in was when it was folded down!

Jonttt recommends the tent proofer, I'm going to try it.

Spoke to my mate, who is also into detailing and he also recommended the G101

I was down at his unit yesterday and got the opportunity to clean my roof - happy to say it worked a treat

    Thanks for the advice :)

I use Autoglym products and have no reason to change as yet. My car does not stand out and lives inside when not in daily use. Water proofing is excellent, never had a leak.

I also am perfectly happy with the Autoglym kit. However, my hood is never left uncovered as I always put the Custom Covers half cover over it when it's parked. Never had a sign of the green lurgy.

93865706-D2C2-40E2-96F6-C169482C704B.jpeg I found the Autoglym kit to give good results, I have used black fabric dye from Auto Bright Direct and the sealed with Fabsil and it beads nicely

The Renovo products are rubbish - got to say it as it is!

    Autoglym every time.
