I am looking for a decent, reliable, honest 'back street' type garage to change the discs and pads on my daughter's Polo.
She doesn't need 'free' coffee, just not to be ripped off.

West side of the city ideally, as she lives in Crookesmoor.

Thanks

Or she could ask Dad to do it.

I live 100 miles away and the opportunities to get it done are limited, otherwise I would.

Personally I hate those Kwikfit and ATS like places.

But, if I found myself in a strange town miles from anywhere and miles from anyone I know and without my spanners then I think I'd have to bite the bullet and go to one of those.

But, of course, a local recommendation is the way to go - if one were forthcoming.

My daughter is 19 and has never even seen the inside of a garage, let alone had to deal with one, so I want a 'trustworthy' place that I can liaise with and be confident they will deal with her properly and not mess her about.
I have had a few recommendations from another forum which I shall pursue.

I understand so completely the dilemma here. Sending your daughter positivity for a good garage experience and my advice is to make sure she takes someone with her - preferably a male friend.
