I'm looking at refreshing the suspension setup for both my 1997 1.9 and 1997 2.8.

I don't track either car, and it's mainly normal road use with the occasional bit of spirited driving

After reading a few threads by other members, I've narrowed down my choice between Monroe and Bilstein.

I will also be using Eibach Pro Kit springs.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback from people who are currently using any of the above.

Many thanks.

Hi there, I don’t track mine either therefore I opted for OEM shocks all round with Eibach 30mm lowered sport springs and it works well, very pleased with the set up.

Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks seem to be favoured by many. I am looking to do the same on our Z3 M44 shortly, so will also be interested in opinions.
To slightly widen the thread (hope that's OK?), is there experience of H&R anti roll bars out there, do they benefit the Z3?:)

I'm on Bilstein B12 pro Shocks and Eibach 30mm lowered springs. No reason or science, I just am. Work great though :D

I went for Sachs shocks and springs, bog standard.
I'm really happy with the handling, even bombing around Silverstone it handled well.
For saying it sits high on the standard set up, there's hardly any body roll.
At some point I'll fit sport springs so it sits lower.
The whole lot inc new Meyle h.d top mounts cost about £450.

I don't think you can beat Monroe for value, I had them on the 2.0 and just started fitting them on the 2.8 with Eibach pro

Hi Jim, my Z4 came from the factory on M Sport suspension. I fitted a set of Eibach springs going on the recommendation of the ZedShed and it lowered my car by approx. 19mm. They give a slightly firmer ride in my experience and they work well with the original shockers. Due to the low mileage of my car I haven't had need to change the shockers. I don't track my car (as yet, but who knows?) and it does handle well in the twisty bits.

Tony.

ps. If you would like to try before you buy, you're welcome.

Agree with @Sean d Monroe OESpectrum Sensa-Trac Struts & shocks installed last month on my 1998 M44 and rides and handles much better.
