Anyone ever done this to a brake disc rotor? Rotor in question is a vauxhall 337mm disc that needs the inner rebored to bmw fitment/dimensions.

Asking for a bud as he has a really cool project?

Would this be a job for a local laser cutting type people?

Any thoughts welcome.

EDIT - suggesting moving this banterless thread to a more suitable thread.

I would have thought that any local engineering firm worth their salt could do this.

It doesn't take anything special. If a shop has a decent mill with a digital read out its simple. I have done several sets over the years for my Jeeps. The discs are just cast iron so they drill very easily.

Jeeps use internal hand brake shoes like the Z3. These work the when installed up until the point you introduce them to mud and they pack solid. Switching rear discs and calipers to something that had integrated hand brakes was the best thing.

I thought as much and have pointed him in the direction of a local firm that seem to do just this.

He is using the vxr brakes as they seem to measure up with his Z4 front hub just without the correct bore.

So his attempted setup is going to be the bored vxr discs with "340" or 1 series sized m performance brembos. These calipers are on so many cars bmw are churning out at the moment. Sometimes they don't even bother to colour them and just stick em on all grey looking. Seems to be a set like this he is attempting to fit.

I had previously looked at the price of doing it before but it soon spiralled with all the additional items. This could take a decent chunk out of the cost.

I mentioned to him the site as i usually do in the hopes we get a new member with some knowledge and projects to share. Look out for a silver z4 from Glasgow!
