Short reply, non OEM softtop's do not have a zipped in window.

You should see the zip clearly if you look at the outer edge from inside the car.
If you can not see it it will be aftermarket..

And, sorry to say, if you need a new rear window, you are looking at a new soft top but some members on here have had new ones fitted that were not that expensive compared to the price of a new window and the job of fitting it.

You can probably improve the hazing on the rear screen with either Autoglym SRP or Grey Gate Plastic polish. My first Z3 had a really badly misted rear screen, but came up lovely afterwards...

Here is a pic of midway through using SRP on it.

I found that it's difficult to get any real pressure on the window with whatever product you choose to use. I got a piece of 1" thick wood wrapped in a towel and got my assistant to hold it against the opposite side which I was cleaning.:)

rear windows - there a real pain in the crack to change, (zipper type) i did mine by myself along with loads of swearing but i managed it in the end

It's recommended that two people work on the new window, make it much easier and far less swearing involved! JIM
