Hi

Has anybody within a reasonable distance from Reading got a tool for removing the rear subframe bushes that I could borrow please? or can remove the old ones and push new ones in? (for a fee of course). The subframe is off the car, I’ve got new bushes ready to go, I’ve spoken to a couple of local garages, who were unable to help.

Thanks in advance…
Bernd

I’m working today and tomorrow until 6. Anytime on Monday would work for me. Cheers!

Is it worth trying to replace these bushes with the subframe on the car?
I'm not in the market for the full rear end rebuild job.

It can be done with a specialist tool and dropping the subframe down enough to clear the pins.

Cannot be done in situ.

Jobs are made much easier if you have the right tools. Oh, and knowledge is useful too ;)

Was the tyre the final nail in the coffin ⚰ that brought about the rear end rebuild.

Well, yes, that tyre and the one on the other side, which pretty much looks exactly the same. But we won’t talk about that one either. 🤫
