Rear speaker removal 2001 Facelift

Hello all,

Can somebody confirm the rear speaker removal procedure please?

Can I access the speakers by removing the grills (Presumably prying them forward) first or do i need to go in through the rear storage area. I have the links etc for the latter already.

If it helps, the speaker setup is non HK.

Bumping this old thread... My car is a 2002

It would appear that in pre face lift (where you have to remove half the back of the car interior) and face lift its far simpler???

Googling would suggest on later cars you can simply pry the plastic speaker grills off to get access to replace the rear speakers??

I'd like to do this if it can be done this way but would like to know how to do it without breaking 22 year old plastic tabs...Where do you pry it (top, bottom, sides etc?)
