Hi,

I've just noticed that my reverse lights aren't working, I've checked the fuse, and changed the bulbs and still nothing. Also changed the boot light bulb, and no boot light. My interiors are working though.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong?

Cheers,
Warren.

Check the reverse light switch on the gearbox, may have become detached or bad connection or switch gone bad.
Boot light, check the wiring connections at the lamp, use a meter to see if there is any power to it also check the switch for it in the boot latch, its a plunger switch in a hole on the boot catch push it in and out with a screwdriver to see if its working.

Boot light could be the so called loom of doom or maybe the starting of the same fault that @Dino D and @mrscalex have had or having to deal with.(which in one case almost caused a big fire)
Re. the reversing lights I would bridge out the wires at the gearbox switch to see if that makes them illuminate.

The boot lid light works if I touch the metal strip onto the side of the car, so I would assume its a grounding issue?

That'll be the switch then as it's earth switched with permanent live feed. IIRC the switch is built into the catch assembly, worth checking that a wire hasn't become disconnected there.
