Hi Everyone. I need to replace the rear console in my 97' Z3. The interior is beige, and I believe the assembly number is 51-16-8-399-286. If anyone has one of these let me know. Thanks. Tom

I have a non roll hoop box, I don’t think the lid it very good, I’m guessing that’s what you’re looking to replace?

Unfortunately you are correct. I may have to purchase a new one as I suspect the lid is probably bad on most used boxes. But thank you for your response. T

The kids are not normally bad in the uk, I know they are sort after in the US as the sun wrecks them

HI Paul. They are around $700 new for the entire console. I would be interested in your used one if you want to sell it. I thought $700 was a bit steep. Tom

Hi Paul, I am just learning how to navigate this site. But I did answer your thread and would be interested in your console if you want to sell it. I have no roll bar or woofer in my vehicle - FYI TomZack

Hi Paul. Looks like that will work. Perhaps we should talk by phone to work out the details. My # is 207.838.1610. Tks. Tom.

Hey Paul, I just noticed where you live It's been a while since I was "across the pond" :). So I think a phone call might be a bit difficult. But I did see a member who said that he plans to be in Kissimmee, FL USA in April. He graciously offered to bring the part over with him. I assume he lives near you or you two possibly know each other. Any thoughts here? Best, Tom

It looks as though these are going to be too big for me to transport I’m sorry to say.:(

Tony, first of all thank you for even considering bringing it with you. I certainly understand about the size issue.

Paul, if you are willing I would of course pay the packing and shipping costs as well as the cost of the console. The other option is that You sell me the lid and try to fit it on my base console. I would consider this if it is interesting for you.

If we end up talking about just the “lid” please measure the outer dimension and let me know what it is.

Tony.

Hi Tony, thank you again. The lid is ~ 25" x 8" (in middle) and 5.5" (on both ends) and about 1" thick. We'll see what Paul wants to do. I think his console could be shipped to the US in a cardboard box with perhaps bubble wrap around it. So it shouldn't be so difficult to pack. Tom
