I am in the process of refreshing the rear brakes on my 1997 1,9 , i am trying to order new pads and discs online , do the new pads come with wear indicator or do i use the sensor off the old pads or do i need the pad wear sensor?

Buy a new one separately sold.
You may be able to save old one but new one not that expensive.

Hi, yes I'll back up what @Stevo7682 has said. They can get stuck in the pads and they do break very easily.
About £10 and only 1 needed. Easily damaged as already mentioned on removal.
When you connect the wear sensor cable apply a drop of oil to the rubber seal on the plug and you will find the plug/socket goes together much easier.

ps. When you remove the pads take the sensor off the pad and retain the metal spring clip for the future. If you ever lose one you can’t buy these separately.
