Hi have a 2010 Z4 sdrive and want to replace the rear brake discs dust cover plates. BMW charge £100 for 2 but most other BMWs are £20 for 2. Does anyone know where you can buy them cheaper or does any of the other BMWs plates fit my Z4.

Are the back plates corroded, it seems that at 12 years old it's a bit early for that to be happening.

That does surprise me, are they corroded through?

Wow. I'll have to keep an eye on mine then, it's an 11 plate. Only 35,000 though.

Just had a look on RealOEM and it shows it is an E89 part only. This is the part number,
34206787823
However it doesn't show the price.

I found them for sale in the USA for $67.42 each with free shipping in the US. If you know someone who goes to the USA you could get them brought home.

£67.50 inc. VAT exc. Shipping in the UK. Both genuine BMW parts.

Same here Tony, may be time for some preventative work on them? ;)

Although mine are on a Z3 there is slight corrosion so in the past on other cars I have put a slight smear of waxoyl on them. When I strip the brakes I also do the other side.
At such an expense it might pay me to remove them and get them blasted and powder coated.
Yes preventative maintence always helps and I guess we all try to do this to avoid big bills.

Unless you you have the means to remove and replace the hubs Brian, cleaning, treating and painting in situ might be the best option.

Yep Tony agreed ...certainly more pragmatic approach as I don't intend to show the car but one has to avoid/minimise the ravages of our winter roads. Must be near heaven driving one of these cars in Florida;):):)
Kind Regards
Brian
