What size are they guys, I mean the ones that bolt to the inner sills, 2 each side, mine are heavily corroded and I want to make sure I hammer the right one in, I have made life a lot easier as whilst I had the inner sills off I have ground them flush with the captive nut.

I think you mean item 5. Inner Hex Bolt ( in American) I think translates to Hex Socket bolt in Proper English

And it’s M8 x 22

I didn't even try removing them normally. I just went straight to a bolt extractor. As long as you can get them started they are not held in with that much torque from memory.

They are hex and from memory 6mm is correct as mentioned not alot of pressure needed i used a 1/4 inch drive ratchet. Cleaned out the seat and tapped it home to ensure a good seat and had no issues good luck.

As well as the size consider the grade of bolt. A lot of bolts used on the suspension are 10.9 grade (alloy steel) rather than 8.8 grade (mild steel). My local supplier only had 12.9 grade (also alloy steel) so I opted for these rather than 8.8. Tightening torque was a bit academic really as access was too restricted for the range of tools I had to hand. I did mine as tight as I could by hand using a 1/4" socket handle. As yours is well stripped down you may get a chance to torque it properly. BMW TIS has a good general guide for all bolt sizes and some specific ones as well. I have a note of them somewhere. Let me know if you have problems finding them.
