I am just starting work on taking out the rear beam and suspension on Z3 I have looked at the pictures posted on here that I think Gaz documented showing all the bushes which are what I'm going to be replacing. What I'd like to ask is how many bolts hold the lower beam bush plate to the chassis I know there is a Alan key one and the main through bush bolt but I'm sure I can see a hexagon head bold next to the Alan key bolt. I've not got it up in the air yet to have a proper look but I've been sliding under every night this week spraying all said bolts with penatrating oil in the hopes that it will work its way into the threads a bit. So is it one or two bolts holding it is what I'd like to know thanks.

Send me a PM if you get stuck. I've removed nearly 20 of these axles now. It's a fun job =))

If there's a hex bolt next to the Allen bolt it means it's been replaced at some point. Maybe even been out before so hopefully will undo easily.

I probably will I'm a bit concerned on the two said bolts as they do look rather rusty that's why I've been spraying every night I get home from work. Thanks again.

Give the 6mm allen key socket a tap with a hammer to make sure its seated.

Even scrape the head out with a small screwdriver first to get the best purchase when you tap in the socket or key.

Certainly will do so I really don't want them rounding out on me. Thank you all again for advice. Belonging to the Zroadsteers club has been so very very helpful to me since I got my car and has given me the confidence to undertake some of these jobs knowing I can ask questions that do help.

I'm considering offering a new type of advice helpline in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled.
