Is this bush meant to hang down as much as this when jacked up ?
Unfortunately not. At best with the right kit you can lower the whole rear end and remove them in situ but you still need to lower it to clear the pins.thanks for the replies .ha thought as much, another job on the long list of jobs.
is it possible to do the bushes without dropping the whole lot down ?
I understood the "pins" were studs and as such it's possible to remove them and then don't need to lower it as much? Not an easy job even so.Unfortunately not. At best with the right kit you can lower the whole rear end and remove them in situ but you still need to lower it to clear the pins.
Yeah can do it that way but the pin itself is locktited in. Once you did get to the stage you would need to remove the old bushes which we do with a 11ton press. I know brian has a tool for doing it in situ but you will need to drop the beam to get the clearance to clamp round the beam.I understood the "pins" were studs and as such it's possible to remove them and then don't need to lower it as much? Tony.
Sounds like an ideal time to get the rear beam off and totally rebuild it.thanks for the replies, i thought that would be the case. i don't think this is going to be a job that i am going to tackle at home somehow as it also needs the hub doing on the same side.
If you do want to do it, my doors always openthanks for the replies, i thought that would be the case. i don't think this is going to be a job that i am going to tackle at home somehow as it also needs the hub doing on the same side.
