Just had our AA membership renewal through and there are some new changes. Just to warn you all, read the blurb, I usually don't, however I have a van that I use for my business and this is now not covered for breakdown from our June renewal date. My wife has managed to get a reduction in the cost for both our cars. My wife's is 16 years old and my Z4 is now 20 years old, almost. This is another problem as my van is 2007, now looking for cover. My wife is now hunting around and Green Flag seem to be cheaper on their website and don't have anything about the age of the vehicle. Anyway just watch out if your work van is with the AA. Mike.

My AA cover is for us, not the cars AFAIK. When I took the policy out, they didn't ask about the vehicles, just the three of us covered!
Mind you ours just renewed and they auto-renewed it without even an email. I have had nothing in the post. I actually don't know what the premium is until I get my next card statement! It doesn't say on the AA account online, just that it has renewed.

We will stay with the AA as we have been there a long time but just for our 2 cars. It is us that's covered Pond not the vehicles but they took the van away. These letters usually go in the bin without reading but I was sitting at my desk waiting for printing to finish so in a board moment I read them. Thank god I did. My wife got enough discount to make it worth going to Green Flag for the van. Will have a look at guild of experienced motorists however Synclare

Ok this may sound cheap but have you tried signing up for https://healthservicediscounts.com/ you DO NOT have to be a member of the health service to register and you get a 40% discount each time. Just ensure you ring them up and cancel any auto renewal. And then repeat next year with another 40% discount…

That doesn't make any sense.
What it means is that although they will come out to us if we are driving a private car or a passenger in a private car this doesn't apply to a commercial vehicle carrying goods. :(
