Hi All!

I've just completed a remapping course and have purchased the correct tooling. I want to keep everything fresh in my head so for the moment doing as many as i can is the key!

Remapping consists of:

Stage on1: this will be a bespoke map to suit your standard car i'll give you an example of mine bellow but feel free to ask and i'll tell you what i can do for yours!

2003 e85 Z4 3.0i 24v 235bhp increased to 257bhp and 300nm torque increased to 330nm torque. its definately given mine a new lease of life and obviously brought it up closer to the later e86 power

Basically this type of remap tweeks your current settings for better performance but in a safe and natural way, setting your car to uk climate, uk fuel type etc etc.

Stage 2: This is for anyone who has or want to fit a exhuast and filter/induction kit. this map will be bespoke again and will take into consideration your modifications so as to use them for the benefit of your engine.

power gains on most naturally asperated engine at stage 1 are 10% power and 10% torque, this can increases to 15-20% on both power and torque.

Again this remap is safe and natural so there will be no injector problems etc etc

THIS IS NOT A CHEAP EBAY TOY, those things just tell your engine its starved of air so it gulps more air and more fuel but this can cause leaking injectors and head gasket failure beacuse the car is running rich and hot


i've invested thousands to do this, its not a full time job to me as i own a sheet metal fabrication company so its more a point of interest at the moment.

All maps are insured and therefore carry no risk to you or your car.

The deal for all Zroadster.org members is £200 i usually charge £250-280 so its a pretty good saving and a worth while modification.

Do you have a rolling road with you too?

ha ha unfortunately not, all the rolling road work is done throughout europe, that means i have a data log of each cars basic map then once i have copied the information from your ecu the map is tailored to how your car is running.

i won't lie, you'll get better performance from rolling roading each specific car but it'll be a measure of 0-5hp improvement and considering average rolling road cost is £380-£450 i don't really think an extra 5hp is worth an extra £200 odd.

no you don't need a dyno to custom remap, as i say the people who i'm an agent of have all that type of facility, my equipment is slave equipment so say you have a 2.2i, you ask me if i can remap it and i say yes! that means that a 2.2i has already been mapped on a dyno and we have a log of that map, now obviously every car runs slightly differently so i plug into your ecu take a copy of the existing map which tells me how the car runs etc then adapt the map i already have to suit your car, as i say its not quite as efficient as dyno'ing each car but for the cost its more worth the money. and the added bonus is its all insured.

I've been down in Billericay this week, upgrading a network in a local primary school! Came down in the boring old Diesel Cooper though :ymblushing: If you had posted this last week, I probably would have come down in the Z3 and get you to re-map it...

Sounds like you have a similar setup to what a mate had done on his E60 520d auto, and it was a pretty good job too. He was certainly impressed with the difference for the £200 or so.

when you get a chance pop down and we'll remap it.

you drive the car for the week and report back with your findings, if you don't like it i'll give you your money back and reset your car back to standard.

whatever happens it'll be a good source of information for zroadster.org's knowledge base and put any other peoples minds at rest.

Thats a shame mate, well the doors are always open and we can even do your diesel mini (diesel turbo engines usually show better results i took my van up from 115bhp to 145bhp and another 50ft of torque) she flys for a van!

just let me know if your ever interested! if you get in before z3cade you can have it for the £150

The 1.6 engine in mine is supposedly perfect for a remap and can give really impressive results. According to the MINI forums they are really detuned. I can't get to the exact figures they claim, as their forum crashed 3 weeks ago and they haven't fixed it yet.

Would be tempted, but the MINI is going to be sold soon...

Mapped BHP 142 Mapped Torque 221ft/lb

MPG increase 3.5mpg


just for general info obviously not worth it if your selling it but i'd be more interested in doing the zed any day

Sorry fella mines already been mapped at Evolve Automotive, its been custom mapped on a rolling road for the schrick cams I have in there.

Can you just map through the obd port or do you have the eeprom programmer to do it by chip out method as you need to do with the ///M. ?

Original BHP 118. Original torque. 133ft/lb
Mapped BHP 135. Mapped torque. 153ft/lb

And you should see an average increase of.2mpg

Sorry zedonist, your correct I was indeed looking up the 8v looking it up on my tablet at the moment and it's a bit limited so I'll check in the morning on the pc and post it up :-B
