I have the hard top on currently and was thinking the soft top was rattling inside the cabin… but now I think it’s coming from trunk or chassis under or inside trunk. When I check trunk for loose items.. CD changer or Inflator, but they are all snug.

Any suggestions?!?

Check both rear anti roll bar (sway bar) brackets are still attached, they are very poorly spot welded, you will need to get under the back of the car and give the roll bar a good pull downwards at each bracket point, due to the way the bar works it will look OK as it will be held tight to the body, I had one come off on a Scottish trip, the bracket will chatter against the body under the boot. Easy to fix if its this.

Mine started rattling couple days ago. In my case it's the spare wheel carrier. Musta forgot to tighten up the nut in the rear right well. Or maybe it's just vibrated loose.

Just give itna kick. See if it rattles

I think it could also be a rear shock mount, they are located inside the cabin in the space the soft-top folds, thus relatively close to the driver

What kind of noise is it? High pitched rattle-can kind of rattle or more like a deeper heavy thumping.

If it just started after fitting the hardtop is the hardtop knocking on the body if it's fitted too close.?

Mine started rattling and it was one of the hardtop securing fixings that had slackened off slightly. These are behind the seats so the sound can seem to be coming from the boot or chassis - my first thought was a rear spring had snapped!

This is interesting, can you upload a picture which exact fixings you mean?

Correction: I just realized you were talking about the hardtop...

I recently adjusted hardtop post height and alignment… those are snugged tight. I also had to reconnect window defroster… good suggestion.

i went so far as to put pads on softtop contact points… so I think its behind bulkhead of boot deck. Is there gizmos behind liner?
