Rapid Temperature Rise - 2.8

Hi,

The temperature of my MY2000 2.8 rises very quickly from stone cold to normal temp ( on the gauge) on starting the engine - about two minutes! I realise that normally this is desirable, but I am a bit concerned that it gets to operating temp too soon and is therefore indicating that something is amiss. I did have to replace the fan belt and tensioner recently and otherwise the car runs sweetly. What should I be checking to head off any impending trouble at the pass?

It does seem a bit quick but as long as it reads normal I wouldn't worry
