Can I ask what was unusual about the snow?
Yep, snow plows were up and down our road and created walls of the stuff on either side, could not get the car off the drive.

So it was not unusual, it was just extreme, glad we clarified that...
Sorry, beg to differ, we never get the white stuff on the west coast, only rain, because of the sea temperature.

What's the difference in height above sea level, and are they land locked or by the sea, also is it a built upmarket or very open?

It's about 9 here and that's cold enough
