Nice to see someone else who values the original equipment.
The trouble is these are becoming fairly sought after now. Perhaps something like 60% of all the cars I've seen have had them replaced so as time goes on it's more difficult to find them.
They generally sell for £60-£80.

I have mine for sale.
All working well when I took it out of the car.
I tried 1 CD in it 1 time then replaced it for my aftermarket haha.
I want £100 + postage however or I'll just keep hold of it I think.

Didn't you say you had one in you Z3 luggage case?
Mine went down the tip along with the changer. Both still worked but I don't have any cassettes any longer. The changer bracket went to another member on here.

It will be all trendy one day to have original kit. And it's pretty trendy now when a head unit sells for £60+ and a changer for £40+
I also have both in my garage, dreadful piece of kit and pretty useless if you like music
I like it when cars are OEM but that does not go as far as the audio kit.
I don't even know what I have but I don't think so because I believe Martin checked for one when he was looking for one quite a while ago. JIM

I forgot to answer your question regarding getting to Aylesbury. I will take either a train or bus whichever is easiest. The train station apparently is close to the airport so someone suggested, possibly Martin? Hope nothing else goes t*ts up, just discovered my sump pump has developed several splits so I'll need to take care of that right away or if we get an early spring my weeping tiles will just fill my basement. JIMWell we can show you next week
I only use the stereo when the top is up. As I don't do that very much, I don't use the OE stereo very often and the sound quality doesn't bother me (if it did , I'ld turn off my hearing aids anyway). The period look is good for something that doesn't get used.

I listen to the radio all the time. But I give preference when I'm in the Z3 to the originality. In fact I quite like the tininess as it reminds me of a bygone era.
I spend most of my time in my 3 Series which has a Harman Kardon system so I get my fix there. The base is truly awesome and both my other half and daughter find it physically distressing! Me and the lad love it and just laugh at them (before turning it down...).
