Radio Crackle

Hi Guys, I get a crackle through my radio, it sounds like electrical interference but it does not change with revs etc...any ideas?

Yes, i have a pure highway digital, i also get crackle when using this, i get crackle when i play music from my phone via blue tooth and crackle through the FM whether the digital radio is powered on or off.

I get the same thing and it seems to be down to some form of interference from my Bluetooth transmitter, which again I get whether it is in use or not but just plugged in. The advice I got from a car audio 'expert', was that add on devices never work as well as hard-wired devices and That the car may require further 'modulation' or signal suppression as older cars are not as resistant to interference from local sources as newer cars. That's as far as I went with it, as I also thought he was trying to sell me a much more expensive solution, which he was and it would have probably worked, but I couldn't justify it in the car.

He sounds a bit fishy to me... i might try removing the unit and see what happens.

I did the same thing and my crackle went. I think he was correct about my car, but he still wanted to sell me something more expensive.

I really like digital radio, and the pure highway is a top notch product. I might try hard wireing it via the AUX, that will mean its not connected via bluetooth...i just wont be able to play my phone music

At least you could try that and see if it makes a difference?
