The 1997 Z3 I just bought had sat for about a year. Naturally the battery was dead and replaced. The stock radio, C33 I believe, is completely dead. Checked the fuses including the one on the back of the radio, all good. Is there a trick I don't know about to get this radio to work again? My drivers side seat belt doesn't retract very well. Tried all the youtube tricks, none helped. Is there any information on how to get to the seat belt mechanism so I can change it? Thanks, Ray

Hi @ray1425 , no idea about the radio, but I had a problem with my drivers seat belt and found there’s was a large piece of polystyrene (soundproofing or cover piece,) that had broken off and was jamming the return.
You need to remove the top cover. 3 screws , but two are hidden by the rear storage compartment. This can be removed as only held by 5 screws, (3 screws at the back in the well for the roof, but the other two are hidden by the centre console. Depending on what centre console you have you may have access to these, if not you may have to undo some of the fixings on the centre console to raise up so you can get access to the storage compartment screws.

IF you haven't tried liberal dose of Silicon spray, try this first pull the webbing out and spray both sides well. Sometimes need 2 or 3 applications. Not found one yet that didnt work.

Tony.
