Afternoon all, As I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands I've decided to have a go at changing the radiator as it's leaking at the top right hand side through the plastic. Any pointers for me whilst I'm doing this? Just change the rad or change other things too?

Thanks

Best advice, use a good quality OEM replacement unit and replace everything you can if you have significant mileage. At the very least, replace the thermostat and large hoses etc.

Any idea when your water pump was changed? Might be worth doing while you have access to the front of the engine. Also while you're there check your drive belts and tensioners too

Id do all pulleys, theremostat and housing and belt whilst you are in there, also check the viscous fan

The hoses only really need the o-rings changing unless they are obviously deteriorated. Not available from BMW but plenty on ebay - you just need to know the size so I can dig that out of required.

Evening lads. Bought all the parts I think I need. Is there a walk through guide for changing the radiator, water pump, thermostat etc?
Check pelican parts...they have some pretty good tutorials. I did the cooling system on mine in Feb and the hardest paper was cleaning up the coolant when draining the system. Rad, hoses, thermo, water pump, reservoir, fan and clutch in about 3 hours, taking my time.

Thanks for the advice. Out of interest where do you get parts?
