Hi all, I'm considering taking my Z3 to knockhill for a race day. I've never done this before and was wondering if you guys can help with any advice or tips. I will be driving it there and home again, so i won't be thrashing it, just enjoying a brisk pace. I'll be going for a full service and new tyres pre trackday, so the car should be ok. Outside of that, I have no ideas what to expect. Any advice? cheers, joolz.

Don't think about the things you need to change before a trackday. Even a normal daily driver would do fine.
But once hooked to trackdays you will want to change a couple of things after the trackday....to improve for your next one. Thats when your bank account starts dropping

I don't like beating the same drum, not sure if there is much interest? If you come along we'll have to try and get you a few passenger laps ;)

Track days are great - but I found donnington an bit daunting for my second session! I was not brave enough needed to get out of third and go into forth.

If you car is your daily driver I would consider car insurance
Donnington is an expensive track, you could have two track days at smaller tracks

Were I could improve dramatically is from the 32secs -50secs

Blyton is an easier track for an novice - and easier run of areas
