I was shocked at the state of my rear shock mounts (yes....pun intended).
Just found that it can be done without removing the whole shock, if you undo the middle screw from the shock inside the car (with two adjustables). Then simply remove the 2 retaining screws and jack up the car to replace. 15 mins each side.
