I've just bought a "soft top" cover from UK Custom Covers @ £69.95. I haven't used it yet, but I'm going to York on Saturday for the week and will try it out then.
It secures to the car via the doors and boot lid. I bought it because when we go away the car is invariably left outside and sometimes I get a minor leak from the door pillar.

We have a half cover (roof only) as I am always wary of the cover rubbing the paint in the wind. The car has to be clean when the cover goes on or the risk increases.

had a car cover for years, on my 3rd. they work well, mine have been breathable. last about 3 years ish. Last one has been clawed abit by cats

It's personal choice really. At home my car is garaged but when we're away it's outside. If you have a slight leak like my car has then it's a benefit for sure.
Full car cover for me mate, worth its weight in gold as my Zed is in a dusty garage. About £80 ish if memory serves. 2 minute job so no dramas.
Quilted and breathable on this one. You can pay silly money though. Middle of the road is good unless your a concourse bod.
