The up arrow is the passenger ejector seat.
The down arrow is the fuel saving mode and it sounds like you might need it. The floor pan opens up and you get to peddle like Fred Flinstone.

There is a simple reason that your Flintstone mode is not working
.Flintstone mode only works if you drive bare footed
